qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Bakersfield, California, 93301
Pay Information $3,059 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Burn ICU - Burn Unit Job
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights, every other weekend,
first to float Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience required, with at least 6 months to 1
year in a Burn ICU License: Required to submit Certifications:
ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: - Minimum 1 year of burn
experience in a burn unit (floating to a burn unit does not count)
- Cerner electronic medical records experience required - Ability
to interpret basic EKG; critical care RNs will undergo additional
interpretation tests as part of assigned curriculum - Advanced Burn
Life Support preferred Job Description: - Work in a 7-bed burn
unit, catering to both adults and pediatric patients with an
average daily census of 4 - Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2,
treating patients at ICU level - Telemetrics systems in use; must
be able to read independently - Ventilator support patients
present; hospitalists and intensivists available for consultation -
Burn surgeons responsible for burn patient care - Collaborate with
burn techs for hydrotherapy and dressing changes (Note: burn tech
not available every shift) - Required to work two out of the three
major holidays - Navy blue scrub color required - Floor-specific
orientation includes two shifts in the burn unit, one in PICU or
ICU, and one in pediatrics unit - May float to PICU, pediatric, or
adult ICU as needed - Typical diagnoses include primary burns
ranging from ICU level to med-surg level for both adults and
children - The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to four
shifts per assignment (with provisions for full payment in lieu of
