Position Summary The Engineering Technology program at Allan Hancock College, Santa Maria is seeking applications to develop a qualified pool of part-time faculty for possible vacancies. Positions are available as determined by need during the Fall and/or Spring semesters of the 2024-2025 academic years.

Responsibilities and duties may include teaching one or more subjects in the Engineering Technology program: Computer Aided Drafting, Engineering Drawing, and Print Reading & Interpretations. Successful candidates will be able to provide evidence of a sensitivity to, understanding of, and ability to manage the classroom environment AND effectively provide instruction to community college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds.

Essential Functions and Qualifications PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
• Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
• Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
• Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
• Teach all scheduled classes.
• Maintain accurate records. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate must meet one of the following criteria:
  
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of experience
• Associate's Degree AND six (6) years of industry experience.
• Possess a combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent of the above. Candidates making an application based on equivalency must submit an Application for Equivalency in addition to all other required materials Prior teaching experience is desired.   Lecture Rate: $65.74 to $86.44 per hour depending upon education and experience
  Lab Rate: $57.27 to $75.26 per hour depending upon education and experience
  Activity Rate: $37.13 to $50.62 per hour depending upon education and experience
