Volt is immediately hiring for Grinding Machine Operator in Burbank, CA.

As a Grinding Machine Operator you will:

Set up and operate CNC and/or manual grinding machines to machine parts according to specifications, tooling instructions, and route sheet traveler.
Read and interpret engineering specifications and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation.
Apply knowledge of grinding/machining methods: Follow route sheet travelers to hold dimensions and tolerances.
Move controls and position tool and workpiece in relation to each other for necessary grinding.
Inspect workpiece for quality assurance and verify conformance to specifications using measuring instruments, such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
Maintain job site cleanliness and a safe work area for organization through all phases of the process.

This is a full time, temp-to-hire, opportunity.

1st Shift Opportunity

Pay Rate: $22-$32 per hour

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience in operating machinery is preferred or a great attitude with a willingness to learn.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to operate heavy machinery and have strong attention to detail.
Basic understanding of electronics and programmable controllers or willingness to learn.
3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; or good attitude and willingness to learn.
Read & interpret Blueprints and understand GD&T symbols.
