Job Description:

JSG is seeking an Electrical Engineer-Circuit Design onsite contractor for our client in Camarillo, CA.

Summary:

Responsible for the design and development of power and control electronic equipment for motor, generator, and power system applications.
Apply engineering principles to develop new, standard, or modified components and products.
Work independently or as part of a cross-functional team under the guidance of an Engineering Manager.

Position Duties:

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

Collaborate with project engineers and analyze engineering data to develop design concepts that align with technical requirements.
Create preliminary or working layouts, estimate engineering time, and conduct system and circuit performance analyses.
Interpret and apply industry standards and specifications for product performance.
Ensure design compliance with internal engineering standards, customer specifications, and company policies.
Identify and resolve design challenges by working with relevant departments and processing necessary engineering changes.
Communicate with customers, suppliers, and external partners regarding product design matters.
Conduct customer specification reviews and maintain specification cross-reference databases.
Support production teams during the assembly of new and existing designs.
Stay up to date on advancements in the field of electrical design engineering.
Maintain strong oral and written communication skills, along with high ethical and professional standards.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with 5-10 years of experience in product design engineering.
Experience in generator/motor controller design preferred, with an emphasis on hands-on product assembly and troubleshooting. Other electro-mechanical or power electronics experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Knowledge of performance and qualification testing, including EMI testing per aerospace or similar industry standards.
Proficiency with circuit design and analysis software.
